Privacy Policy of MBM Assist Services (Pty) Ltd
As an authorized financial services provider, MBM Assist Services is subject to the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and as such, MBM Assist Services aims to:
- Protect our clients and related stakeholders from harm by protecting their personal information.
- Ensure that our client’s information is gathered, stored and processed in accordance with the law and in the interests of our clients and/or related stakeholders.
Collection of Information
MBM Assist Services (Pty) Ltd collects information mainly for the following purposes:
- Understand what the client’s needs are around taking up a funeral policy;
- Explaining what the features, benefits, exclusions, limitations are when activating a funeral policy;
- Activating, amending or cancelling a funeral policy cover;
- Providing information concerning new developments and/or important updates regarding funeral policies and/or related services offered by MBM Assist Services and our underwriter;
Use of Information
MBM Assist Services (Pty) Ltd will only use your personal information strictly for the purposes for which it was collected and agreed upon with you as a client. Where necessary, client’s information at our disposal may be referred to or utilized for the following reasons:
- Ensuring that MBM Assist Services (Pty) Ltd is fully compliant with the regulatory requirements as prescribed by the regulator and/or the relevant privacy laws;
- For the detection and prevention of fraud, crime and/or other malpractice;
- To conduct customer satisfaction research for statistical analysis;
- For audit and record keeping purposes
- Where there is a complaint and/or legal proceedings ensue and are instituted by any affected party.
Disclosure of Information
In accordance with the FAIS legislation, MBM Assist Services (Pty) Ltd is required to have an agreement with and maintain a working relationship with another qualifying insurer with a large enough capacity to protect the interests of our clients and their policies with MBM Assist.
As such, MBM Assist Services (Pty) Ltd may disclose client’s personal information to our policy underwriter and/or service providers who are involved in the delivery of services on behalf of MBM Assist Services (Pty) Ltd such as payment processing partner company. In such cases, only relevant information will be disclosed strictly for the purpose that the underwriter and/or service provider partner requires such information to ensure that a client’s policy is up-to-date.
MBM Assist Services (Pty) Ltd may also disclose information for the following reasons:
- Where there is a legal duty or a right to disclose such information in terms of the law or regulatory requirements.
